Open Basic Education (OBE), for non-school goers and drop outs below and above 14 years of age – child/adult learners. The OBE programme is being implemented jointly by NIOS and its Accredited Agencies. It has now started a process to conduct joint certification examination- at primary stage A and B and upper primary stage C level, in collaboration with its accredited agency for open basic education programme through Distance education mode (open learning system) at the Elementary stage and award joint Certificate with the partnering NGO at three levels –A level (equivalent to class –3, B level (equivalent to class –5 and C level (equivalent to class-8.
